HIGH FASHION, AW 75/76

In Rome in July 1975, once again at Vivai del Sud,
the second haute couture collection for AW 1975-76 was presented.
All pink, with a musical background consisting of 25 different
versions of “La Vie en Rose”. Another tribute to Chanel and Poiret.

?The 30?s and 40?s are the era from which we receive the only valid messages
about fashion,?which revolutionised a way of thinking at the time and still influence
our way of thinking today; such as Chanel?s simple and understated suit,
which stripped women of all unnecessary frills and dressed them in a simple
sweater over a skirt. There is nothing more to be discovered now; it’s better
to perfect the old and apply the good taste of those years.?

Walter Albini

To the question: “Which do you prefer, the pret-a-porter woman or the haute couture one?
Albini replied: In the moment in which I create them, I love them all, and then I disown them all.?
